In February 2010, the 180’ Tall Ship Concordia was hit by a microburst, or as they are known “White Squall”, 300 miles off the coast of Brazil. The vessel sank in 18 minutes. Bill Curry of Marrowstone Island was the Captain. He saved all 64 souls aboard and kept them safe through a 40 hour life raft ordeal despite storm and rough seas.
Bill held the position of Director at the Boat School for 10 years and spent many years as Captain of the Adventuress.
All are invited to Welcome Home and Celebrate Captain Bill at a Community Potluck to be held Sunday May 2nd starting at 3pm at the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding (The Boat School) in Lower Hadlock.
